The developers of the app for Android OpenSignal have used their vast user base to measure the level of fragmentation of the mobile operating system from Google(Samsung Galaxy s3 Cases). This year, more than 682,000 devices were involved in the statistics, almost 11,868 of which were distinct Android devices.
In comparison, in 2012 the relationship OpenSignal has involved only 3,997 distinct Android devices. It is therefore a very broad user base, that this year, compared to last year, leading to some interesting revelations. One of these is that 47.5 percent of devices are produced by Samsung, which is not surprising considering the recent performance of the company sidcoreana.
Sony-Ericsson devices are following the example of Samsung with a market share grew to 6.5 percent, followed by Motorola and HTC with 4.2 percent and 3.9 percent market share, respectively .
As for the individual devices, the report of the study reports that the Samsung Galaxy S3, Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Note 2(samsung galaxy ace accessories) are the best popular devices, those with a greater market share. Other popular handsets are the Samsung Galaxy Y and Samsung Galaxy S4 (I9505).
Eight versions of Android software were taken from the survey, including the ancient 1.6 Donut. The latest version of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean was not included in the report, as soon as your ad goes back to last week.
The comparison between iOS and Android is inevitable. Looking at the Apple devices, with those running the iOS mobile platform, iOS and discard 7 that still has to come out publicly, the iOS version 6 has a spread of 95 percent, compared with 5 per cent of the previous version of iOS 5(Galaxy Ace S5830 Cases), as well to a negligible percentage of previous versions in the hands of customers.
The comparison pie chart above, you can clearly see the spread of the individual versions of Android, with devices running 1.6 Donut and 3.2 Honeycomb slowly but surely headed towards extinction, while other 6 major versions of Android are currently available in a considerable number of devices.
